Wildlife
As an unfenced area, the animals roam freely. Here you may explore at will, there are no game rangers with earpieces telling you where or when to go for the next sighting!
The reserve has a huge diversity of birds, trees, plants and insects. The list of mammals is extensive, includes Elephant, Lion, Cheetah Wild Dog and many others. Please enquire for more details.
The Private house on offer
The property is held by way of a long established and formally registered corporate structure. Shareholding ownership is scarce and highly valued; Since formation of the private company in 1981, one original founder is still involved and over 80% of the shareholders have held their respective ownership for 20 years or longer.
The company has only 15 shareholders. The share that is now on offer is unique in that it is only one of only two shares that enjoy the exclusivity of use of their own private dwelling on the property. The other shareholders may only use the shared lodge facility, see next section.
This house on offer has great views over the bush. It is fully furnished and ready to use, and is included as a packaged offer with the purchase of this 1/15th share of the company.
The house comprises – Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, pantry, a large veranda, a fire pit for cooking outside, an elevated observation deck for viewing and sundowners and a carport.
Please enquire for further details.
The shared lodge / shareholders
All shareholders may use the shared lodge facility on the property. It is for shareholder use only and is not open to commercial bookings.
The lodge comprises 7 separate chalets with central kitchen, dining and entertainment areas. There is also a large swimming pool that offers essential relief from the summer heat.
The shareholders are mainly internationally based, most of whom only visit for an annual vacation, so the lodge occupancies are low. Subject to the 90 day limit Botswana applies to non residents, there is no limit on your usage.
Via the strong shareholders agreement, sensible rules apply to all shareholders. The operations and maintenance of the lodge is funded by way of an annual levy, currently approximately $10,500 per year.
The shareholders have a major focus on conservation and being as sustainable as possible, this includes a significant involvement in supporting the local neighbouring communities.
Access and getting around
By road – It is about 5 hours drive time from Johannesburg to the border crossings.
By Air – Within Notugre lies the Limpopo Valley Airfield, an international airport offering customs and immigration facilities.
On the property – Many of the shareholders prefer to use their own vehicles, however the lodge does have a Game Drive vehicle for the shareholders use.
