Tsavo East National Park

As Kenya’s largest national park it serves as a central pillar for conservation in East Africa. It is a vital sanctuary for endangered species such as the black rhino and the rare hirola antelope, attracting tourists with its vast wilderness, excellent game viewing and easy accessibility from the coast

The park is predominantly characterized by flat acacia bush savannah and striking baobab trees complemented by geographical features.The Galana River, with its Lugard Falls forms the lifeblood for hippos and crocodiles, while the 1.6 km long Mudanda Rock and the man-made Aruba Dam serve as crucial water sources that attract massive herds during the dry season

In addition to wildlife viewing directly from the lodge, game drives into the heart of the vast park are highly recommended. Depending on the planned duration of the safari, guests will experience a wealth of wildlife across diverse landscapes

The wildlife characterized by impressive numbers and the park is known as the “Theatre of the Wild”. It is particularly famous for its approximately 15,000 elephants, known as “red elephants” because they dust themselves with iron-rich soil for sun protection

The buffalo population remains one of the highest in the country and the roughly 700 lions stand out among the predators. About 150 cheetahs hunt in the open plains, and for bird lovers, the park is a paradise with over 500 species. Rinos are intensively protected within the Tsavo ecosystem in strictly guarded sanctuaries
